DESCRIPTION:Come join Georgia Master Naturalist and Certified Edible Mushro
 om guide Michelle Withrow for an engaging walk-and-talk exploring native e
 dible and medicinal plants and mushrooms. Michelle hosts the annual Georgi
 a Wild Foods educational weekend each fall in North Georgia and has led po
 pular walks at Foxfire for the past two years. \n\n\n\nThis nature walk is
  an easy\, approximately one-mile stroll through the Foxfire property. It 
 is suitable for ages 7 and up\, but not recommended for those with limited
  mobility\, as the terrain includes occasional uneven ground and gentle in
 clines. Hiking shoes or tennis shoes are recommended\, along with sunscree
 n\, bug spray\, and a light rain jacket. \n\n\n\nThe experience also inclu
 des a brief classroom session with handouts and the chance to explore touc
 h-friendly samples of dried mushrooms. Walk and classroom time together to
 tal about two hours. \n\n\n\nThe class concludes with a delicious snack of
  acorn pancakes with prickly pear syrup and a wild juice tasting. Particip
 ants are encouraged to bring lunch and spend the rest of the day exploring
  Foxfire’s unique buildings and grounds. \n\n\n\nFoxfire admission is incl
