 es education and experience finding\, processing\, and consuming edible wi
 ld plants and other foragables in a beautiful camp setting. Founded by wil
 d food author and teacher Sam Thayer and now run independently by his wife
  Melissa Price. The Midwest Wild Harvest Festival is open to anyone from b
 eginning to advanced foragers. This event is designed to be a wild food co
 nference. A group of diverse instructors provide workshop options for regi
 strants. And like all these wild food weekends\, there are ample opportuni
 ties to make friends\, discuss wild foods\, learn and play. \nThe Weekend 
 is filled with outdoor workshops and activities\, a keynote speaker on Fri
 day evening and a two-hour open forum where participants share their wild 
 food experiences and knowledge. There is a wild food potluck dinner on Fri
 day night prior to the Keynote presentation. Participants can enter a cont
 est for the best wild food dishes. There is general playfulness and music 
 after dinner on Saturday night. \nJohn Kallas of Wild Food Adventures taug

 year wild food educators and enthusiasts gather to teach\, facilitate and 
 learn at this three day event. Wild food educators teaching at this event 
 typically include Sam Thayer\, Mike Krebill\, Ellen Zachos and others. \nW
 hat is Provided\nTraining\, hands-on experiences\, field trips\, meals\, a
 nd camping or dormitory space. \nFive meals are provided starting with the
  Friday evening wild food potluck and ending with Sunday morning breakfast
 . The Friday potluck is all about wild foods\, the remaining meals are hea
 lthy organic conventional foods peppered with wild foods when possible. Me
 als are prepared by staff and served in an indoor dining hall. \nParticipa
 nts can choose to camp or stay in a dorm at the facility at no extra charg
 e. \n\nCosts\nFor people 15 on up registration is $200.\nChildren 12-14 ra
