Bladesmith SKILL CLASS - Damascus Steel Forging Weekend

Here it is folks: The ultimate skill class for the bladesmithing enthusiast in your life. The holy grail skill of hobby knife smithing: Fancy patterned steel from scratch! In this class, we will be learning all the skills and processes required to make your own pattern-welded Damascus steel for making beautiful knives and swords or even jewelry and art! We will be working with 1084 and 15n20 steels and forge welding a 13-19 layered billet of steel. Students will forge out this stack into rectangular knife blanks and learn to machine the finished slab into smooth flat surfaces. Students will work together to create a large amount of Damascus and then divide and forge their portion to final shape to keep. *PLEASE NOTE: We will not be creating a finished knife in this class, but we will complete a finished flat rectangular knife blank for each student of sufficient size to make a knife.
