How FeralSkills Makes Money

A directory you can trust should be honest about how it's funded. Here's how FeralSkills plans to stay sustainable without compromising what we are:

Newsletter and editorial sponsorships. Outdoor brands that want to reach our audience can sponsor our weekly newsletter or editorial sections. Sponsorships are always clearly labeled, and we only work with brands that fit the community we serve.

Affiliate partnerships. When we recommend gear, books, or training resources in our resource articles, some of those links may earn us a small commission. We only recommend things we'd genuinely point a friend toward.

Optional paid tools. We may eventually offer paid tools for schools or instructors who want them — things like registration management, student communication, or class scheduling. These will always be optional, and using them will never affect free directory listings.

What we'll never do

• Charge schools or instructors to list their events
• Take a cut of registration fees
• Sell student data
• Let a sponsor change what appears in our directory or how it's ranked
• Run flashing display ads or anything that compromises the reading experience
